Charles Heidsieck
Charles Heidsieck is one of Champagne's smallest Grand Marques and produces some of the region’s finest cuvées, which are celebrated worldwide for their elegance and complexity. The House was founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the original ‘Champagne Charlie’, who invested in the now-UNESCO-listed ‘crayères’ chalk cellars beneath the city of Reims. These cathedral-like cellars were hand-dug by the Romans nearly 2000 years ago and are still used today to age all of Charles Heidsieck’s champagnes.

Found only in independent retailers and the on-trade, the house focuses on unrivalled quality, consistently winning top awards. This success is attributable to the strength and depth of their winemaking team over the past three decades: Daniel Thibault, Régis Camus, Thierry Roset and Cyril Brun have between them been awarded ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ at the International Wine Challenge sixteen times. No other house has won more than twice. In March 2023, Elise Losfelt joined the winemaking team as cellarmaster, continuing the house's legacy of excellence.

Charles Heidsieck is also celebrated for its dedication to sustainability. In 2022, they became one of the first Grand Marques to achieve B-Corp Certification, illustrating an ongoing commitment to improving both their social and environmental impact on the planet.
